Linnie Blooms Feature
Today we're featuring one of the newest Crafters' Home Partner Vendors - Linnie Blooms! Linda has put together an adorable tutorial that we're excited to share with all of you!
Wood blocks are a great way to feature some of your favorite photos! Here is a wood block that I decorated with some pictures of my nieces’ adorable newborn, Robert.
Here’s how I created this cutie! I started with a Linnie Blooms Wood Block and used black craft paint on every side. Once dry, I picked out some scrapbooking paper and cut it down as desired to cover each side of the block. I then decoupaged the paper onto the block and let it dry.
For the large side of the block you see in the lower right-hand corner of the photo, I simply cut a coordinating piece of scrapbook paper to use as a mat for the photo and decoupaged it on. The photos I used I printed on matte photo paper and decoupaged on as well. The little star was colored by mixing a Faber-Castell Gelato and some water together and then drying with a heat gun. Then I set a little eyelet in the center of it before adhering it to the block.
For the other large side of the block, I colored a Linnie Blooms Canvas ATC by drybrushing blue acrylic paint to it. This was then used as a matte for the photo. I just love all the added texture you get from using stitched canvas on your projects. The rest were embellishments I dug out of my stash.
I hope you enjoyed my project today! Be sure to stop by Linnie Blooms’ and check out all the goodies we have to offer!
